Founder, Marinucci & Associates, CPA | Sulmona, Italy → Washington, D.C.
Dear Valued Clients and Friends,
It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we share the passing of Gino Marinucci, the founder of Marinucci & Associates, CPA. For those who knew him — and so many of you did — this news will carry a personal weight. He was not simply a tax professional. He was a trusted counselor, a tireless advocate for his clients, and a man of extraordinary character.
A Life Well Lived
Gino was born on February 22, 1939, in the historic hill town of Sulmona, Italy — a place he carried with him always in his heart. At just 15 years old, he arrived in the United States with little more than courage and an unbreakable will to build something meaningful. He was deeply proud of his Italian heritage and equally proud to call himself an American.
He learned the language, worked tirelessly, and pursued his education without pause — ultimately earning his CPA certification and fulfilling a dream that few immigrants of his generation dared to reach for. In 1980, he founded Marinucci & Associates, CPA, and for nearly four decades he poured into it everything he believed in: honesty, dedication, and a genuine care for the people he served. He retired in 2019, leaving behind a firm — and a reputation — built to last.
A Man of Faith and Community
His generosity reached far beyond the walls of this office. He volunteered his time and financial expertise to his cherished faith communities, most notably St. Andrew Apostle and his beloved Holy Rosary Church in Washington, D.C. His faith was inseparable from his character — it shaped how he treated every person who came through his door.
His Greatest Pride
Above all else, Gino was a family man. He was the counselor, the steady hand, and the heart of his family in every sense of the word. He is survived by his beloved wife Lina; his three children, Linda, Tony, and Piero; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. It was his family who gave him his greatest joy, and they carry his spirit forward.
